ISM students take part in a wide variety of cultural events locally and overseas every year, and injuries and accidents sometimes occur. Faculty and advisers are first-aid trained, as are the bus marshals who travel with groups domestically.
Where an accident or injury occurs at a school event, on or off campus, the School provides automatic medical insurance coverage for claims filed with its insurance provider. Coverage of an incident, and reimbursement of any amount claimed, is assessed by the insurance company and is not determined by ISM.
This coverage is not intended as, and cannot be used as, a general health insurance scheme. The School strongly advises parents to hold their own comprehensive medical insurance for the family while in the Philippines.
Accidents within the Philippines
- Collect an Insurance Claim Form from the ISM Clinic
- Submit it to the insurance company with supporting documentation within 60 days of the incident
- Coverage: PHP 100,000 per student, per school year
Accidents abroad
- The same procedure applies
- Coverage: PHP 2,500,000 per student, per trip, per school year
- All traveling members are covered for the duration of the trip

Parents who do not wish to use the School's coverage must submit a copy of their own policy to the Fine Arts / CAS Office at least one week before the trip. Otherwise the cost is added to the regular billing invoice — approximately PHP 700 for a three-day trip or PHP 900 for a five-day trip.
