Rural Rising
- Puerto Galera
About the site
Rural Rising works with distressed farmers through its “Rescue Buys,” purchasing excess or poorly distributed produce at above-farm-gate prices and helping to develop sustainable rural communities. It promotes sustainable agriculture, food security and economic opportunities for farmers.
At this site, students connect with rural communities, interact with community members, and learn about local living conditions, rural livelihoods and the challenges farmers face.

Targeted UN goals
It was an emotionally challenging but an equally mind-awakening experience for us to meet boys that had gone through so much in their lives but still managed to stay strong and happy. Despite our differences, we were all united and shared the best experience by interacting with each other and playing math games together!
